Candace Owens is challenging Turning Point USA staffer Blake Neff‘s account of Charlie Kirk‘s whereabouts on the night before his death.
The podcaster has pointed to what she describes as inconsistencies, particularly regarding Neff’s claims that he can no longer recall the name of the hotel where they stayed.
In recent weeks, Owens and Neff have been engaged in a public online dispute over her conspiracy theories surrounding the organization and Kirk’s death.
In a recent episode of her podcast, Owens questioned Neff’s account of where Charlie Kirk stayed on the night before his death.
Speaking to her audience, Owens noted that Neff could not initially confirm which city they stayed in. She claimed that after later identifying Salt Lake City as the correct location, he said he could not remember the exact hotel where they stayed.
“I think that that’s really sad that he can’t remember details,” Owens said after playing audio from an X Space in which Neff gave his account.
She added, “He’s so young, and he’s, you know, balding, and now he can’t remember things. So, if you were working at a hotel and saw this scene, of all of these employees, we would love to hear from you.”
Owens also took to X to argue that it should have been impossible for Neff to forget such significant details.
She based her argument on Neff’s relationship with Kirk and the circumstances surrounding the late conservative commentator’s death.
“You do not forget the city and the hotel you stayed in the night your work colleague was murdered in front of the world,” she wrote. “Sorry. This isn’t adding up.”
In a separate post, Owens added that “none of this is normal” while responding to a fan who suggested Neff was lying about his activities on the night before Kirk’s death.
Candace Owens’ Supporters Backed Her Criticism
3Many of Owens’ supporters also expressed surprise that Neff appeared unable to recall the hotel’s location, particularly since less than a year has passed since Kirk’s death.
“I can remember every hotel I’ve ever stayed in for the last 10 years on any occasion,” one user wrote.
“Not even any attempts to describe the hotel, but just straight up I don’t remember,” another user commented.
Some users outright accused TPUSA of trying to “gaslight” the public, while others argued that Neff’s actions had damaged his credibility.
“If he can’t seem to remember anything, then he can’t be a reliable source for any other information at all,” another netizen wrote.
Neff Accused Owens Of Chasing Attention
3Neff has also publicly pushed back against Owens for promoting conspiracy theories involving TPUSA and Kirk’s wife, Erika.
In one post, he wrote that her stories “make her look like a catty, nasty woman” while praising the late Kirk’s reported decision to distance himself from her.
“They make it so obvious how Charlie grew into a better person once she left his orbit and he was influenced by better people (like Erika, for starters),” the producer added.
In another tweet, he called on Owens’ supporters to engage in self-reflection and consider whether the podcaster’s reasons for focusing on the circumstances surrounding Kirk’s death were genuine.
He wrote, “Candace’s supporters should pause and ask themselves: Is this *really* the behavior of someone whose top concern is getting to the truth about Charlie’s death? Or is it the behavior of someone who only cares about attention and money?”

3Owens’ feud with TPUSA began just weeks after Kirk’s death and has been fueled by several theories she has raised about his killing.
On her podcast and across social media, she has alleged that foreign actors were somehow involved in Kirk’s assassination, contrary to the prevailing account that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, acted alone.
She has also suggested that the U.S. military was involved in the right-wing influencer’s death, citing what she described as a tip from a service member.
Additionally, Owens has repeatedly implied that Kirk was betrayed by people close to him, including friends and loved ones.
