NBA champion Karl-Anthony Towns says he’s a better man because of his soon-to-be wife, Jordyn Woods. In a new interview, the New York Knicks star gushed about his boo and expressed gratitude that she’s stood by his side through thick and thin. Elsewhere during his recent chat, Towns opened up about how Woods had helped him learn new things about himself.
While speaking with The New York Times on their podcast, “The Interview,” the athlete went on and on about his fiancée, Woods, and praised her for all she’s done to help him become the man he is today.
“I guess you could say a relationship in Hollywood hasn’t lasted as long as ours,” the basketball player said. “That’s just kind of not the norm. And then we found ourselves finding each other at the foundational level of just being friends for years.”
According to Towns, Woods has “taught” him many new things about himself, and she’s helped him open his eyes to things he should “work on.”
“She makes me better all around, you know? And also just made me better with patience as well,” he added.
Karl-Anthony Towns Will Never Miss An Opportunity To Shout Out His Baby!
Towns is Woods’ biggest cheerleader, and after winning the NBA Finals, the New York Knicks giant gushed about how her steady presence in his life has benefited him over the years.
“You always pray you’re going to pick the right woman for you, and I know I did in my fiancée,” he said, per The Blast.
He explained how when he lost his mother to COVID-19, Woods was one of the only people in his corner helping him navigate the difficult heartbreak.
“It’s crazy, when she passed, there was so much turmoil in my life. Funny enough, my fiancée was the one who was a friend at the time, was the only person I got to call before I had to go out there and say bye to her at the hospital,” he added.
Karl-Anthony Towns And Jordyn Woods Got Engaged In December 2025
Woods and Towns have been one of the league’s power couples over the last few years, and in December 2025, the former Minnesota Timberwolves player secured the bag when he popped the big question.
According to The Blast, Woods got candid about her and Towns’ unique bond in a previous interview, revealing that their relationship was built on “friendship and trust.”
“We’ve been through a lot together,” she said. “We’ve seen each other at all different ways, times, and phases, so I think we have a very strong foundation.”
Woods Was Emotional When The Knicks Won The NBA Finals
Woods showcased more of their relationship following the Knicks’ championship win in June 2026. In her viral Instagram post, the influencer and model said she was proud not just of Towns, but of the entire Knicks roster.
“Trying to find the right words because I’m still overwhelmed with emotion. These guys were so locked in that I woke up this morning still saying ‘0-0,’ waiting for Game 6,” she wrote. “Watching this team all season has been unbelievable, not just because of their undeniable talent, but because they’re even better people than they are players.”
She did, however, dedicate a portion of her post to Towns, praising him for how he’s handled himself throughout his time in the league and how he’s overcome adversity.
“I couldn’t be more proud of you. Watching the humility you’ve carried through every high and low, the way you put your faith before everything else, the sacrifices you’ve made, and the joy you’ve brought to every moment has been so inspiring. No ego. Just hard work, gratitude, and an unwavering belief,” she added.
The Knicks’ Win Brought The Entire City Together
Following the Knicks’ electrifying win over the San Antonio Spurs, Towns appeared on the “Late Night” show with Seth Meyers to discuss his team’s victory. While New York has two professional NBA teams, Towns said the Knicks’ win united the entire state.
“It just shows the passion our fans have, but like you said, it was so amazing to see our team bring together New York. I’ve never seen all five boroughs get together. H-ll, I saw Brooklyn celebrating for the Knicks, and they have a whole team!” he said.
