Former France international, Frank Leboeuf, has slammed Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe following his repeated claims that he deserves to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or ahead of every other contender.
Speaking to GOAL, Leboeuf insisted that Mbappe’s repeated Ballon d’Or claims to the media are annoying.
According to him, the France striker has proved to his critics that they are right about him, that he prefers individual glory rather than team success.
“Everything Mbappe does on the field feels like it’s for himself,” Leboeuf said. “That is the problem.

“When Mbappe says he wants to win the Ballon d’Or, that says it all. Going into the media to express his wish and to win the Ballon d’Or is annoying because it proves his critics right.”
