The Naira on Friday continued appreciating against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market to end the week on a good note.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened further on Friday to N1,380.19 per dollar from N1,381.53 exchanged on Thursday.
This means that the Naira gained N1.30 on a day-to-day basis, the third appreciation in the week under review.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained flat at N1430 per dollar on Friday, the same rate traded on the previous day as the apex bank announced fresh guidelines for licensed bureau de change operators.
The mixed sentiments across foreign exchange markets come as the country’s foreign reserves stood at $51.92 billion as of July 16th, 2026.
