Gabrielle Union is just one of many fangirling over Angel Reese during the WNBA All-Star weekend. On Instagram, the “Bring It On” actress uploaded several snaps and videos of her daughter posing with Reese and the LSU alum’s new Signature Barbie doll.
This isn’t the first time that Union has spoken positively of Angel Reese. In early 2026, the “Being Mary Jane” star boasted about how much of an impact Reese has had on women’s basketball, mentioning her sold-out crowds and fan-favorite signature Reebok sneakers.
5The WNBA celebrated 30 years as a professional league during this year’s All-Star Weekend in Chicago, and during last night’s game, a flood of celebrities came out to support.
Among those was Union and her NBA superstar husband, Dwayne Wade. The two A-listers brought their kids along, one of whom posed for several pictures and videos with Atlanta Dream star Reese.
In one of the videos posted online, Reese was seen giving Union’s youngest daughter her new Signature Barbie doll, which comes with all-pink attire, Reese’s signature leg sleeve, and her newest “AR1” colorway.
“Kaav is gonna ask for a leg sleeve in 3,2,1… @angel.reese … spoiled indeed,” Union captioned the heartwarming clip.
Gabrielle Union Has Only Positive Things To Say About Angel Reese And What She’s Done For Women’s Sports
5Union has only positive things to say about Reese, considering she previously praised the former Chicago Sky star in an earlier interview, according to The Blast.
“Going to Chicago Sky games, everyone is like ‘Angel Reese, Angel Reese’ and then after the game, you know she stays for a very long time and the line of kids waiting to see her who are just like overwhelmed at the sight of her, it’s boys and girls,” Union said while promoting thier 2026 film, “GOAT,” in which Reese voices Propp, a polar bear roarball player for the Shivers.
“There are boys that are holding her shoe. Like, I got the Angel Reese shoe. I want you to sign this jersey, and they are looking at her in awe,” Union added.
Angel Reese’s All-Star Weekend Included An Unexpected Run-In With Former President Barack Obama
5Reese’s All-Star weekend was quite eventful, considering she had an unexpected run-in with former President Barack Obama when she touched down in Chicago, Illinois.
“When my plane was landing yesterday … they said, ‘VIP. Nobody can get off the plane,’” Reese said. As she continued, the LSU alum said that she was confused because she, too, is a very important person. “And then they said, ‘Obama.’ And I was like, ‘OK, OK, OK,’” Reese said.
To make up for the moment, Reese was able to get a quick selfie with the politician while visiting his new Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park.
“Not everybody just gets to meet Barack,” the 24-year-old said. “That was my first time too. Baby, you got to get your (selfie). I’m getting a picture of everybody. I got one of (Copper), got one of me, a selfie. I think it’s important just to capture every moment.”
Reese’s Bayou Barbie Moniker Is Officially A Reality
5Before the start of All-Star Weekend, Reese shared that she’d officially become a Signature Barbie doll with her 5.2 million Instagram followers.
“Having my own Barbie doll is a true dream come true for me. It’s such an incredible honor because it’s about showing girls that there are no limits to what they can achieve,” Reese said. “I’ve never let anyone else define what’s possible for me, and every challenge I’ve faced has only made me stronger. I hope this doll reminds girls to be unapologetically themselves, embrace every part of who they are, and go after their dreams with confidence.”
