More than three decades after “Dazed and Confused,” Matthew McConaughey is giving one of his most memorable movie lines a tequila-fueled update. The Oscar winner and his wife, Camila McConaughey, have teamed up with YETI through their Pantalones Organic Tequila brand to launch “A Lot Cooler,” a limited-edition cooler designed for peak summer entertaining.
The collaboration pays tribute to “It’d be a lot cooler if you did,” the endlessly quoted line McConaughey delivered as David Wooderson in the 1993 coming-of-age comedy. This time, however, the actor is not talking about attending a party. He is encouraging fans to make their summer “a lot cooler” with margaritas.

According to a press release sent to The Blast, the limited-edition YETI features a custom Pantalones Organic Tequila design which was inspired by the couple’s spirits brand. Beyond its decorative exterior, the cooler has been sized to accommodate one case (or six bottles) of Pantalones Organic Tequila.
Promotional images show Matthew and Camila relaxing on the tailgate of a pickup truck with the custom cooler positioned between them. Both wear cowboy hats and hold margaritas as bottles of Pantalones remain chilled inside the YETI.
The beige cooler features the recognizable black YETI logo and a large Pantalones design with Western-inspired detailing. The words “A Lot Cooler” appear across its front, directly connecting the collaboration to McConaughey’s famous movie line.
The partnership arrives as summer temperatures continue climbing and backyard gatherings, pool days, and outdoor cookouts reach their seasonal peak.
‘It’d Be A Lot Cooler’ Gets A Tequila Twist
The YETI collaboration is being promoted through the latest installment of Pantalones’ ongoing “Official Tequila Of” campaign. In the new spot, Matthew explains that while viewers may not currently be holding a Pantalones Organic Margarita, “it’d be a lot cooler if you did.” He and Camila then demonstrate several activities that can apparently be improved by adding a margarita.
The couple enjoys the cocktail while gardening, grilling, and even showering, leaning into the playful and intentionally over-the-top tone that has become central to Pantalones’ marketing. The campaign acknowledges that tequila cannot change the weather forecast, but argues that a refreshing cocktail can still make an unbearably hot summer day feel considerably cooler.
McConaughey’s callback also gives longtime fans a nostalgic connection to “Dazed and Confused,” the film that helped establish him as a Hollywood star.
The McConaugheys Share Their Summer Margarita Recipe
Fans do not need the limited-edition cooler to recreate the couple’s preferred summer cocktail at home. Matthew and Camila shared the recipe for the Pantalones Organic Margarita, which requires just three primary ingredients and a lime wheel for garnish.
You will need 2 ounces Pantalones Organic Tequila, Blanco or Reposado, 1 ounce organic lime juice, 0.5 ounce organic agave nectar, an organic lime wheel for garnish, and salt for the rim.
Begin by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass. Dip the rim into salt until it is evenly coated, then set the prepared glass aside. Add the Pantalones Organic Tequila, organic lime juice, and organic agave nectar to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake the mixture until it is thoroughly chilled. Strain the margarita over fresh ice in the prepared rocks glass, then finish with an organic lime wheel.
The drink can be made with either the brand’s Blanco or Reposado tequila, allowing fans to choose their preferred base.
Pantalones Recently Turned Its Tequila Into Ice Cream
The YETI announcement comes days after National Tequila Day, when Matthew and Camila McConaughey’s Pantalones Organic Tequila unveiled another unexpected summer collaboration. The brand joined forces with Tipsy Scoop to transform the classic margarita into a frozen, alcohol-infused dessert. The partnership launched with a limited-edition Peaches & Cream Margarita Ice Cream and will later this summer expand to include a vegan flavor created exclusively for Tipsy Scoop’s new Dallas location.
The limited-edition flavor will remain available at every Tipsy Scoop Barlour through August. Customers can purchase an individual scoop for $8.50 or take home a pint for $16.
Matthew And Camila McConaughey Built Pantalones Together
Matthew and Camila co-founded Pantalones Organic Tequila as a premium spirits brand with a deliberately irreverent personality. Produced in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico, the tequila is made with 100% blue Weber agave and is USDA-certified organic. Its portfolio includes Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo expressions.
From tequila-infused ice cream to a YETI inspired by one of Matthew’s most recognizable movie lines, the brand has continued leaning into humor while finding new ways to move Pantalones beyond the traditional margarita glass.
