Enes Kanter Freedom upset many people after his antics during Sunday’s WNBA game led to his ejection. In addition to getting Chicago Sky player Natasha Cloud fired up, Kanter rubbed NBA champion Kyle Kuzma the wrong way as well. Online, Kuzma blasted the former Boston Celtics player, calling him a “drama queen” and condemning him for seemingly antagonizing women.
Kuzma rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday, August 23, to call out Kanter after he was ejected from a Chicago Sky game. “Look at the drama queen,” he wrote. “No, not Natasha. Grown man stepping over the baseline at a woman,” he added, finishing with a clown face emoji.

According to The Blast, Kanter was removed from yesterday’s WNBA game after getting into a heated verbal altercation with Cloud. It’s unclear what was said, but Cloud was seen angrily approaching Kanter and yelling something, while Kanter stepped toward her with his arms outstretched.

Videos of the intense moment have spread like wildfire on social media. One video shows the retired NBA player interacting with arena staff and Chicago police, suggesting that he was unfairly targeted.
“This is unacceptable,” he could be heard saying in one video, while in another post, he stated he was “kicked out of a WNBA game for supporting WOMEN!”
Kanter’s actions come weeks after he vowed to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft, saying he now identifies as a woman.
“If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required,” he said, “then I meet every single requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA.”
He went on, “I’m simply asking that the current rules be applied equally to everyone — the rules that represent the very values many WNBA players and coaches have publicly advocated for.”

Kanter’s sudden interest in the WNBA comes after Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham began receiving backlash after saying she was against transgender women competing against biological women in sports. (There are currently no transgender WNBA players or transgender players seeking to play in the WNBA.)
“I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest. And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men,” she said in a previous interview, according to The Blast.
More Disruption In The League
Major players in the WNBA responded to Cunningham’s words, including Cheryl Reeve, who said she disagreed with her stance. “I come from a space of inclusion,” she stated. “The narrative that I think is problematic is to suggest that transgender athletes are the biggest problem in women’s sports. This is what’s bothersome. There is a faction of people in our country that are making this a massive issue.”
Natalie Nakase, the WNBA’s first Asian-American head coach, made a similar point, saying sports are about creating a safe space for everyone involved. “You know, I’m big on that just because I have been criticized for my height, for my ethnicity,” she said. I’ve been in those: ‘You shouldn’t belong here’ conversations many times, and for me, I don’t want that space, especially Golden State, to ever feel like that.”
After the game and Kanter’s explosive ejection, Cloud shared a post online, telling those in the LGBTQ+ community that she was ready to stand by them through thick and thin.
“To every trans kid/person, you are part of my community and tribe,” she shared. “You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are, and you will always be protected by me.”
