The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s United Kingdom re-entry cost a fortune, and a certain billionaire was allegedly beyond happy to give them a financial boost as they find the perfect home for the family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially arrived in the U.K. on August 26, 2026, alongside their two children after spending over six years away, settling in the United States.
The couple’s emotional connection with British hedge fund billionaire Ian Wace has allegedly come in handy, as he is interested in their move back home.
Multiple sources have shared that Wace is helping finance the Megxit reverse from his $1.2 billion treasury, and it is a testament to his friendship with the couple, which has lasted for ages.
Wace has sealed his status on the billionaire list, thanks to his role as a founding partner, chief executive officer and chief risk officer of Marshall Wace LLP, one of the largest hedge fund firms in the world, established in 1997.
Just last month, Harry and Meghan reportedly visited the billionaire’s private Scottish island known as Tanera Mòr with their two kids. According to Page Six, the lifestyle brand owner even shared a picture of her living it up on the Scottish property, which Wace purchased for $2.3 million in 2017.
Harry had once visited the 800-acre island in the past, which has been completely transformed by the billionaire, who splashed $135 million on restoration, tree planting and laying roads.

Meghan and Harry are reportedly yet to make any public appearance since touching down in the United Kingdom on a private jet that cost $120,000. As shared by The Blast, the couple have reportedly been looking at a home in the Cotswolds, very close to King Charles and Queen Camilla’s home in Highgrove.
Meghan and Harry have also put plans in place to get their kids in school this September, although the exact institution is yet to be made public. However, their current stay in the United Kingdom does not suddenly wipe away their relationship with the United States, which welcomed them as they left their home country.
Meghan and Harry were able to purchase a $14 million home in Montecito, California, and secure multiple business deals with Netflix during their stay. For now, the Montecito property remains in their name alongside their vacation home in Portugal.
Most importantly, the relocation places Harry closer to several charitable organizations that remain central to his public work, including WellChild, Scotty’s Little Soldiers, and the Invictus community.

When the couple showed up in England last month, they had a closed-door session with King Charles and Queen Camilla where they got to spend time as a family and bond with their grandchildren. Details of their conversation have not been disclosed, but sources have shared that no conversation was had about Sussex’s standing in the royal system.
Meghan and Harry, on their way out of the United Kingdom, had resigned from their royal duties after a conversation with the late Queen Elizabeth II, who did not want a half-in, half-out situation. Now that the couple is back, it is reportedly unlikely that the firm will effect a change to their non-working royal status.

As the couple makes their arrival into Great Britain, a source close to her confessed to PEOPLE that their concern for her in the face of intense scrutiny by the British media is at an all-time high.
The lifestyle brand owner had confessed in previous interviews that her relationship with the media in Britain was not the best, as they had access to some uncomfortable information about her family.
Meghan had also claimed that she felt isolated and unsupported while serving as a working royal in the firm, and even when she tried to address her suicidal thoughts by getting professional help, her concerns were dismissed.
The Blast shared that throughout their stay away from the U.K., Harry and Meghan have not hidden their criticism of the media, and Harry even pursued several lawsuits against publishing houses over their reporting.
The perception of the couple by the British public has also added fuel to the blazing fire because their popularity has reportedly plummeted, with them ranking just above the disgraced Prince Andrew.
