Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla reportedly didn’t go as the couple would have wished.
Although both parties have purposed not to speak on the private family moment, the Duke and Duchess were said to have left disappointed because they “didn’t get a thing” after sending in a purported list of requests.
Prince Harry is understood to be “hoping” for future family plans with King Charles but will reportedly continue to fight for taxpayer-funded security in court.
The long-awaited reunion between Harry and his wife, Meghan, with his estranged father King Charles reportedly ended in disappointment for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, leaving them “furious.”
Harry had gone on a rampage about his botched police protection in the months leading up to his return to British soil for a series of charity engagements and an event marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
The situation made him leave his family behind as they sought to stay away from the nation’s capital, where the threat to their safety was feared to be intense. However, they all joined him there later before proceeding to Charles’s Gloucestershire residence, Highgrove House, for a private meeting with the King and Queen.
The rare family moment marked the first time Charles was seeing Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet, in four years. However, reports claim it didn’t go the way the Sussexes had hoped, with TalkTV host Kevin O’Sullivan citing sources who claimed it was a “mess.”
“Suddenly, it’s all up in the air, but they managed to fly in Meghan, Archie and Lilibet from Portugal. We didn’t get to see them. They went straight to Highgrove, and at last the King got to see his grandchildren,” the broadcaster said, per The Express.
“But it was all just a mess, wasn’t it?” he added, questioning the outcome of the private meeting.

Royal biographer Angela Levin doubled down on O’Sullivan’s revelation, citing sources who allegedly told her that the meeting couldn’t have gone any worse for the US-based royal couple as they didn’t get any of their requests.
“It was a mess. What is very interesting about it is, the King insisted Camilla would be with him. Camilla is very particular about how people talk to him and particularly Harry,” she noted.
“The two of them could not do what they wanted,” she continued, claiming, “Harry had sent in a list of what he wanted. He stayed in one of the palaces. Everything was going to be what they wanted. They didn’t get a thing.”
Levin concluded, “I think [Harry and Meghan] must have absolutely hated it. There would have been conversation, but not very warm.”

To this day, no photo from the meeting has surfaced, with reports claiming Harry “assured” his father that he would not speak publicly of it.
However, insiders worry that a thawing in his icy relationship with the royal family may not happen any time soon.
Sources claimed he emerged from his meeting with Charles feeling “buoyed” and “energized,” and is “hoping” for future reunions with his father.
Yet, he is apparently determined to continue fighting for taxpayer-funded security, which was withdrawn following his decision to step down from his royal duties in 2020.
“He will pursue it until RAVEC agrees to enact the terms of reference that were made clear in front of a judge in the judicial review. It’s about the Home Office doing what they committed to in court,” a source said, per Hello!
Part of the move he’ll take includes convening a Risk Management Board to assess threats against him, which he has reportedly not done in seven years.

The decision to press on for the reinstatement of armed security comes after he left Buckingham Palace in shock with his comments slamming the British judicial system, which represents the King, his father.
Harry and several other high-profile individuals were involved in a legal standoff with Associated Newspapers Limited, publishers of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, over allegations of unlawful information gathering.
Judge Justice Nicklin declared the news organization not guilty, claiming Harry and co. didn’t provide enough evidence to back their claims.
However, Harry and Baroness Lawrence released a joint statement that seemingly attacked the British legal system, calling the ruling “…a complete and obvious whitewash but sadly not altogether unexpected.”
The “whitewash” statement by Harry reportedly left Buckingham Palace stunned, especially as courtiers were not fully trusting of him and his wife’s motive for wanting to reunite so badly.
“There were jaws on the floor with a statement attacking not just a High Court judge but the entire judicial system that acts in the King’s name,” a source said of the duke’s remarks, per The Times.
The insider further noted that “there is profound upset constitutionally about that attack.”
