The Invictus Games founder has made his first public sighting since it became public information that he will be moving back to the United Kingdom with Meghan Markle and their kids.
Prince Harry and his wife, alongside their children, recently returned from a trip to the United Kingdom, where they reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla as tensions continue between Prince Harry and Prince William.
Harry was pictured looking all excited at the event a few hours after it was reported that he and his wife Meghan will be going back to the U.K. Harry was reportedly grinning from ear to ear as he exchanged pleasantries with guests and even got a few words in at the podium, which had the Union Jack and the national flag of the United Kingdom.
Harry’s bond with the veterans runs deep as he has served ten years in the British Army, where he rose to the rank of captain. The father of two also completed two deployments to Afghanistan, where he served between 2005 and 2015.
His passion for looking after the veterans and supporting military personnel was also the driving force behind the Invictus Games, which was founded in 2014. On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, Harry confirmed that he would return to the United Kingdom at the end of the month for an extended period with his family.
A source had confirmed to Page Six that King Charles was duly aware of the move, although he was informed on Sunday, August 16, as an insider suggested that Charles may be the reason behind that move.

As stated by PEOPLE, Harry may have shared some details about this big decision about a year before it happened. As it stands, sources have confirmed that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will begin to attend school in September, although the location has not been revealed.
At the WellChild Awards in 2025, Harry may have hinted at this big move during a conversation with singer Joss Stone, who had also returned to Britain with her own family after spending years in Tennessee.
Stone revealed to a media outlet after the conversation that Harry was genuinely interested in their move back to the United Kingdom, and he was very warm and approachable in his interaction. The singer continued that Harry was interested in how her children handled the move and how community was very important for kids to grow up in.

The couple headed for the sunny hills of California following their exit from the U.K. in 2020 and settled by purchasing a home in Montecito. Harry had shed more light on his reason for California during his interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, explaining that he wanted to ensure Archie had an outdoor space to go for walks with him and the dogs.
He added that the choice of location also allowed them to go for long walks on the beach and hikes as they pleased. Before the couple settled in California, they had spent some time in Canada, after which they permanently relocated to Santa Barbara.
While they initially kept their U.K. home, Frogmore Cottage, as a base for visits, they officially vacated the property. They handed back the keys in June 2023, leaving them with no official residence in the U.K. During their stay in America, the couple secured several business deals with Netflix, which produced a documentary and other visual projects.
Meghan also launched her lifestyle brand “As Ever,” which is a luxury lifestyle brand and food brand that initially soft-launched in March 2024 under the name American Riviera Orchard and was rebranded to “As Ever” in 2025.

While Meghan and Harry succeeded in locking down a closed-door interaction with the King and Camilla at Highgrove House during their visit, some senior members of the royal family were not exactly pleased with their presence.
As stated by The Blast, royal commentator and TalkTV host Kevin O’Sullivan said Harry was desperate to gain access to that meeting, knowing fully well that a soft-hearted King Charles would want to spend time with his grandchildren.
The commentator suggested that they may have brokered an arrangement that would allow for Harry and his family to commute between America and the U.K. as they wished.
“William – who by the way is basically in charge of the Royal Family, it’s not the King, it’s William – no way. Camilla doesn’t want it, Anne doesn’t want it, Edward doesn’t want it. None of them want it,” O’Sullivan explained.
William and Kate Middleton have reportedly been frustrated by the development because of the possible effect of the move on their significant royal responsibilities. The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly believe that the presence could overshadow other members of the monarchy and generate countless tabloid stories.

With the warm welcome Harry received from Charles during his closed-door meeting in the United Kingdom, he has reportedly now been looking for ways to mend his rift with big brother, Prince William.
Harry has reportedly asked his father and various aides to let William know he is ready to sit down and have a conversation. A source explained that Harry does not have a direct means to contact William because the one he has never gets through, hence this new means.
Harry has also reportedly been throwing out little hints to people to inform William that he is not carrying any grudge towards his brother, as the realization of living life without William is painful for him. He has also reportedly confided in a few mutual friends that he misses William and would not mind picking up the pieces.
As for William, Harry’s decision to go all out and spill details about the family to the media has left a hole in the future king’s heart, making reconciliation difficult.
