Tim Curry, star of “Home Alone 2,” “It,” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” has passed away at 80 after facing health challenges.

Marcia Hurwitz, his longtime manager and friend, confirmed the news of his passing at his home in Toluca Lake in a statement to The Los Angeles Times. A cause of death has not yet been established.
Hurwitz said of his friend, “Though widely known for his inimitable, flamboyant characters and colorful stage performances, his greatest legacies to those who knew him were his curious, expansive mind and generous, gentle heart, both of which remained open and filled with anticipation until his final breath.”
Curry suffered a stroke in 2012, which left him with significant health problems. The incident affected his leg and forced him to use a wheelchair.
In a 2025 appearance marking the 50th anniversary of his 1975 musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” Curry spoke openly about the enduring effects of the stroke.
“I still can’t walk, which is why I’m in this silly chair,” he reportedly told the audience, adding that it was “very limiting.” He continued, “I won’t be singing, and I won’t be dancing very soon. I still have real problems with my left leg.”
